Dear Chelsea Elementary Families,
May has arrived and I am sure everyone is enjoying the warmer weather and longer evenings. In April, we were pleased to host the Hadley-Philemon Band for an afternoon concert. This was a great experience for our students and highlights the music opportunities that are available in high school. We always have several Chelsea alumni in the band and we love seeing them return to perform.
The Run for Ukraine was a huge success raising a total of $18,500.00 for the Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. The grade six organizers did an amazing job with this event! I would like to acknowledge families that contributed to the fund raising and the parent volunteers who helped with the event. Ms. Gillich’s class raised the most of any class ($2,600) and won a special activity in recognition of their efforts.
Several Field trips will be taking place in May so please keep your eye out for permission forms. All volunteers on trips must have a valid security clearance with the school board. If you haven’t completed a background check previously, please visit the office for paperwork. The process is free and will allow you to join an outing.
This month we will be hosing Derek McKinley for a concert and song writing workshops. Music is in the air!
