Principal’s Message
Dear Chelsea Elementary Parents/Guardians,
I hope this finds you well! Spring has arrived and with it our yards will often have wet and muddy areas. Please ensure your child is prepared with splash pants, boots, and an appropriate jacket so that can enjoy their outside time.
This month we have several events/activities happening. Students from every grade continue to be provided lunch time extra-curricular activities organized by Ms. Bea and Mr. Fleming. The first Chelsea Newspaper project is underway with student representatives from grades 1- 6 and a group of students and Ms. Bardell are organizing a run to fundraise in support of Ukrainian children displaced by the conflict.
Second Communication will be available to parents on the Parent Portal on April 22. Like the October progress report, this will provide a snapshot of your child’s achievement for second term.
Our value this month is environmental stewardship and classes will be exploring the various ways that we can help care for the earth. While Earth Day is officially April 22nd, Chelsea Elementary is committed to instilling in students a love of nature and sense of responsibility for living lightly throughout the year.
A big thank you to the Chelsea Home and School Association for their recent gifts to the school. These gifts include the Butterfly Project, classroom green houses, sports equipment, and money to support two beautification projects and our grade 6 graduation ceremony!
Governing Board will meet virtually Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 pm. Please email the chair Eric Advokaat eric.advokaat@gmail.com if you would like to join us. All meetings are open to the parent community!
Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy April!
