Hello Chelsea Elementary Parents and Guardians,
I’d like to welcome everyone back after the March Break.
Last month was a busy month! Thank you to the Chelsea Home and School Association for organizing a wonderful staff appreciation week! We appreciate the parents and students who took time to express their gratitude to our amazing community of staff.
Chelsea Elementary hosted the WQSB volleyball tournament in February and two teams participated in the Basketball tournament the Friday before March Break. All students enjoyed a week of Jungle Sport which provided opportunities to explore vertical movement, balance, and team building challenges.
Term 2 report cards will be accessible on the Parent Portal on March 15th. If you have trouble accessing your child’s report card, please email mpedersen@wqsb.qc.ca.
Parents of students who have an Individual Education Plan, will receive a mid-year evaluation in March. The IEP report will be printed and a copy will be sent home with your child in a sealed envelope.
Parent-teacher interviews are coming up! On Thursday, March 23 (4:30pm-7:30 pm) onsite interviews will be available and on Friday, March 24th (9:00 am -3:00 pm) virtual interviews will take place. Teachers will be sending interview requests shortly; if your child is progressing well, an interview will not be requested by your child’s teacher. If you wish to meet but do not receive an invite, please contact your child’s teacher directly to schedule a meeting.
In March we are exploring and celebrating the value of creativity. Creativity is not linked solely to the arts; it is a mindset that allows students to think critically, generate ideas, and problem solve. It also promotes the acceptance of set-backs as a natural part of the learning process. Please join us as we explore the value of creativity this month!
Wishing you a happy March,
Andrea Gage
