Dear Chelsea Community,

Staff Appreciation Week is taking place February 6th until the 10th. The Chelsea Elementary staff is an exceptional, dedicated, and compassionate group of educators and I feel privileged to be part of this team. Thanks to all who show their appreciation and a big thank you to the Home and School association for organizing surprises throughout the week!

Term 2 ends on February 10th and report cards will be accessible on March 15th. Parents of students who have IEPs can expect a paper copy of the term evaluation sent home mid-March. Parent-Teacher interviews are being held on the evening of March 23rd and during the day March 24th.

February is Black History Month, a time for all to focus on and learn about the contributions and experiences of Black Canadians, past and present. Students will learn about the ongoing struggle for equity and social justice as well as the resilience and strength demonstrated by Black Canadians. I strongly encourage parents to explore this topic at home with their children and recommend the following resources: https://westernquebec.ca/blackhistorymonth/ and

This month, the staff and students are focused on the value of Empathy.
Throughout the month we will challenge ourselves to open our minds and hearts to the feeling and perspective of others.
