Dear Chelsea Elementary Parents/Guardians,
I hope this finds you well. Last month gave us several reasons to celebrate our students and staff! Chelsea Elementary sent two teams to participate in
Destination Imagination, a board wide engineering challenge. Both Chelsea
teams placed; the ROCKETEERS brought home 3rd place (and the Davinci
award) and The SUPER SIX won 1st place (see below for pictures). Thanks goes to Ms. Bardell and Ms. Butler for supporting these teams.
A group of grade six student’s hosted a bake sale just before March break. This sale raised over $700 dollars for the Red Cross Earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. Thank you to these students and Ms. Van Cleave for their work in supporting
others.
Our value this month is environmental stewardship and classes will be
exploring the various ways that we can help care for the earth. While Earth
Day is officially April 22nd, Chelsea Elementary is committed to instilling in
students a love of nature and sense of responsibility for living lightly
throughout the year.
A big thank you to the Chelsea Home and School Association for their recent
gift of French literature for the school. Over $1000 worth of French texts have been donated to support the French language learning!
Governing Board will meet virtually Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 pm. Please email the chair Melanie Hogan mhogan@wqsb.qc.ca if you would like to join us. All meetings are open to the parent community!
Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy April!
